Dr. Marc Nolting,

is a trained fish farmer and marine biologist. He studied biology and chemistry at the University of Berlin and the University of Kiel. He gained his PhD in fisheries biology, zoology and marine chemistry at the Institute for Marine Research in Kiel, Germany.

Scientific work on the research projects "Development of recirculation systems for marine aquaculture" and "Development of curricula and training materials for rearing of fish larvae in developing countries" in Germany, Brazil, Greece and the Philippines.

Extensive practical experience in fresh water and marine aquaculture including processing and marketing of fish products.

From 2000 to 2003 principal project advisor for coastal zone management, aquaculture and fisheries in the Philippines (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Technische Zusammenarbeit GTZ GmbH).

Extensive knowledge and experience in methods and instruments on impact monitoring and evaluation of research programmes and international cooperation projects.

In 2003 he founded his own consultancy business. Ever since he has accomplished various missions as independent consultant in European and Asian countries.
